Slab Leak Detection in Temeku Hills, Temecula
Temeku Hills is built around a golf course in central Temecula, just off Rancho California Road. Many of its homes date from around 1998 to 2002, so the plumbing under them is now about 25 years old.
Living on or near a golf course brings a question most Temecula homeowners never have to ask: when the ground is wet, is it actually your water?
Temecula Leak Experts helps Temeku Hills homeowners sort that out, and when it is your plumbing, we find the leak before anything is opened.

Golf course lots
Wet Ground Behind Your Home? Three Possible Sources
If your lot backs onto the course, a damp or soggy patch near your back fence could come from several places. Here’s how to tell them apart:
The golf course’s irrigation
Clues: Wetness lines up with the course’s watering times, or is on the course side of your fence
How to check: Turn off all your water. If your meter stays still, the water isn’t from your plumbing
Your own irrigation
Clues: Wetness near a sprinkler head or valve; dries up when your system is off
How to check: Turn off only your irrigation and watch the area over a day or two
Your main water line or a slab leak
Clues: Wet even with your irrigation off; your meter moves with all water off
How to check: Close your house’s main shutoff. If the meter keeps moving, see main water line leaks; if it stops, the leak is inside the house
The key is your water meter. If it doesn’t move with all your water off, the wet ground isn’t costing you anything, and it’s worth letting the course or your HOA know.
Your home’s age
What 25 Years Means Inside the House
Temeku Hills homes were built more than a decade before PEX entered California’s statewide plumbing code in 2009, so many have copper water lines, often running under the slab.
If a warm floor is your main clue, our hot water slab leak page shows a quick check using the valve on your water heater.
At around 25 years, the signs of a slab leak usually show up inside, not in the yard:
Pools & spas
Pools and Spas Are a Separate System
Many Temeku Hills homes have a private pool or spa. Pool plumbing is a different system from your home’s water lines, but a leaking pool can still show up on your water bill if an automatic fill valve keeps topping it off.
Quick way to separate them:
Turn off the pool’s auto-fill along with everything else, then check your meter. If the meter stops, the household plumbing likely isn’t the problem.
Detection
Finding the Leak
We confirm the leak with your meter, rule out irrigation and pool sources, narrow it to hot or cold, and mark the exact spot under your slab. Most visits take 1 to 3 hours, and you receive a written report with repair recommendations.

Main Water Line & Yard Leaks
When the yard stays wet and your meter keeps moving, the leak may be in the buried line between your meter and your house, not the golf course.
